About Us

John Mattilio was born and raised on a 50 cow dairy farm in Rural Valley, PA, Armstrong County. His parents and brother still work hard milking cows today. This is where he learned to work, to respect other people and know what is important to farmers.

John graduated from Penn State University in 1987 with a B.S. in Dairy Science and A B.S. in Agricultural Education. He worked in agricultural lending with Farm Credit and commercial banks for 14 years. He worked with all types of farmers and agricultural businesses in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In this job contacts were made with many agri- business people in this region.

John has always enjoyed working with farmers and the farm related industry, but wanted to start his own business. His Father In Law, Kenneth H. Greider has been a real estate Broker for many years, and he gave John great training and helped him get started in 2001. He knew John always wanted his own business, and encouraged him to work toward his own business goals.

John started selling farm and land real estate in March 2001, and in 2004 he obtained his PA Brokerage license, and started Farm And Land Realty, Inc. His goal with this company is to provide good service to the customer through knowledge and experience, and earn a fair living.

He lives in Willow Street, Southern Lancaster County with wife Melissa, and four children, Chloe 10, Clare 9, Dominic 6, and Victor 2.
